Project Overview
PackPal is a mobile app designed to reduce travel-prep stress by helping users organize trips, pack efficiently, and stay on top of essential tasks. Built primarily for international students and frequent travelers, the app centralizes checklists, trip details, and planning tools into one simple, intuitive experience.
Problem
Travelers often rely on mental notes, scattered lists, or multiple apps to prepare for trips. This leads to forgotten essentials, last-minute stress, and decision fatigue—especially for international travel where requirements are higher.

Research & Key Insights
We interviewed 9 users (international students and business travelers). Key findings:
Most travelers pack late and feel unprepared
Mental checklists and scattered tools are common
Users prefer simple, minimal apps over complex travel platforms
Insights were synthesized using empathy mapping, affinity mapping, and a rainbow spreadsheet to prioritize user needs.
Design Approach
Defined clear information architecture for trip creation, checklist management, and history
Explored layouts through low-fidelity wireframes focused on clarity and speed
Designed high-fidelity UI with a calm, modern interface and clear visual hierarchy
